The Philadelphia Film Festival is taking place in Philly currently and last night Jesse and I attended a film produced by a friend about hope in Northern Uganda. Every once in a while you witness something that you are so moved by and last night was one of those instances. Today I woke up with a new appreciation for life and everything we have. I encourage you to see the film Staging Hope, it will inspire you!
I had lunch yesterday with a great friend and awesome photographer, Courtney Apple and we started talking about businesses that we really admire when she told me about Hand In Hand Soap, a company she started with her fiance to give back to children who are in need. If you don’t already know about this product then you really need to. For every bar of soap you purchase they will send a bar of soap to a child in need. They teamed up with Oh Joy who created a great design for the soap and it is now available here. We hope you support such an inspiring company…I know it will be on my list of gifts to give this year!
On Wednesday, tornados ripped through the South and left destruction in their path. One of the areas that was hit hard is a small town near Birmingham, Alabama where Kimberly’s family lives. Everyone in her family is safe and well however there are many others who have lost loved ones and lost all of their belongings. The Red Cross is working to collect donations to help those living in the affected areas. If this touches your heart like it has ours, please send a donation to help the families rebuild their lives.
